Things That fly

FLIGHT

Aim: To learn about flight and aerodynamics.

  • In your groups of 3 you will make a paper plane and measure its distance and behaviour.
  • In groups of 3 you will make a water rocket and record its distance and behaviour.
Image result for flight forces

Definition:
the action or process of flying through the air.

4 forces of flight:

  1.   Gravity
  2.   Thrust
  3.   Drag
  4.   Lift

Paper Plane:

Material:

1. one peas paper
2. ruler
3. paper clip
Steps:

1.  get the paper,
2. fooled the paper,
3. and let it fly,

Findings:

Plane Type
Distance
Behaviour
Normal
5mstraight

Ailerons

Paper clip

5mstraight

Conclusion:
I learnt that the one the had nothing on it went 5 meters in a straight line.
The one that had the paper clip went 5 meters in a straight line. And the one that had the flaps on it went 5 meters in a straight line.
